This is the M/V Funchal . This is first & last name for all her life , that's quite rare for a cruise ship . build by Helsingør Skibsværft A/S one the biggest Naval yard of Danemark . Launched the 10 February 1961 . Inaugural travel 4 November 1961 . Four time refeet . But guy's first , she contain Blue Asbestos , the worst & more dangerous type of Asbestos product , second she contain egally gray Asbestos for insulations ... So third , do not dream too much about its future as a liner, it is now counted. All of her passive and active safety equipment is totally outdated, shortcomings relating to the watertight doors, the fire system and the ship's evacuation procedures have been noted, among other things by Norge Veritas. During the last refeet on 2021 a criminal accident brought on the ship to defraud the insurance by setting it on fire . Unfortunately for this old lady, it will be necessary either to set up this association to keep it in drydock, or to make it a floating hotel like the Queen Elizabeth 2 in Dubai , or exposition object like the TSS Duke of Lancaster , or just nighclub & stores with other part from original ship conserved like the SS Lydia etc . technically she was originally an ocean liner, just got demoted to a cruise ship later.

When this little beauty sailed out of Perth WA I enjoyed 2 summer cruises on her. All the food service was A La Cart, all beverages free pours, 6 meals standard per day with the best ever micro supper burgers I've ever eaten. This is like watching a close friend dying
